A STAGED READING
BRAND NEW BOMBSHELLS JUST ENTERED THE VILLA!
(ideally, try to picture this summary in an Australian accent; underscored by SZA’s “Doves in the Wind”)
This spring, a new reality television experience comes to you LIVE from (probably) the Hay-Patton Rehearsal Center. it’s THE OATH. Our fearless leader, Ferdinand of the Villa Navarre, has it all, but he wants more... more knowledge, that is. He turns his villa into a haven of focus and manly solitude. he’s meditating. exercising. intermittent fasting. Seriously, it’s transformative, ok? His three friends, Longaville, Dumaine, and the cynical jokester Berowne, take The Oath as well, each vowing, among other things, not to lay eyes on a woman for the entirety of the season. Should be pretty doable, with a little help from their HIIT instructor and noted gossip, Costard, and from Ferdinand’s fashionable visitor and fellow Oath-taker, Donny Adriano di Armado from The Shore (you know which one). But little do they know... the producers have brought the heiress of the Valois fortune, Princess, to the villa on behalf of her ailing father. Along with Princess come her bombshell friends, Katherine, Maria, the nonpareil of wit Rosaline, and their sharp-eyed chaperone Boyet. Will the oath-taking boys manage to keep their vows with such compelling ladies afoot? Will Princess’ mission be fulfilled? Will the villa’s other residents’ love triangles, lunacy, and lasciviousness disturb the peaceful forces at Villa Navarre? Tune in to Love’s Labor’s Lost: THE OATH to find out.
